A tighter job market may be contributing to increased punctuality at work. A new CareerBuilder survey reveals that 16 percent of workers said they arrive late to work at least once a week, down from 20 percent in last year's survey. One-in-ten (8 percent) said they are late at least twice a week, down from 12 percent last year. This survey was conducted among more than 5,200 workers between November 5 and November 23, 2009.

IRS issues list of Dirty Dozen tax scams
The Internal Revenue Service has issued its 2010 “dirty dozen” list of tax scams, including schemes involving return preparer fraud, hiding income offshore, and phishing.
“Taxpayers should be wary of anyone peddling scams that seem too good to be true,” IRS Commissioner Doug Shulman said. “The IRS fights fraud by pursuing taxpayers who hide income abroad and by ensuring taxpayers get competent, ethical service from qualified professionals at home in the U.S.”
AICPA and Accountemps to provide five scholarships for accounting students
The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Accountemps, the temporary staffing service for accounting, finance and bookkeeping professionals, are accepting applications for the 2010-2011 AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship. Five individuals will receive $2,500 each for tuition expenses.
